Description Overview: The Associate Electrical Engineer will support the 24 x 7 continuous Water Utility raw, treated, and purified water operations, capital improvement projects, annual maintenance work plan, and asset management plans. They will be responsible for the planning, design, development, implementation, modification, installation, and maintenance of the Water Utility's critical electrical distribution systems in the area of water pumping, conveyance and treatment while ensuring work quality and adherence to professional codes, standards, and Valley Water specifications. Raw water delivery operations depend on the reliable supply of electrical power for ensuring delivery of water-to-water treatment facilities, streams, and our customers. Utility Electrical & Control Systems Unit (Position Code 481)
Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).
