Vice President for K-12 Afterschool Programs (Uptown Manhattan)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Oversee administrative and program operations of youth and school-based programs that serve over 3000 students annually
  • Responsible for the evaluation and direct supervision of program directors, as well as indirect supervision of professional and paraprofessional staff members
  • Ensure that programs meet and deliver on all short-term objectives, while remaining strategically focused on the overall mission and longer-term goals
  • Provide leadership in the formulation and integration of program philosophy and management policies consistent our mission, goals and objectives
  • Establish systems to ensure utilization review, quality assurance, program monitoring, fiscal oversight, resource management and development of new agency initiative
  • Ensure all programs and services provided remain in compliance with all applicable local, state or federal laws and/or regulations
  • Remain knowledgeable and continually gain deeper understanding of the mission, scope of programs, and larger agency-wide strategic priorities
  • Present strategic ideas, plans and operating statistics for programs to the CEO under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer
  • Foster strong relationships and effective communication with staff and senior leadership
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned


Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in youth development, preferably in an education setting
  • Proven ability to manage and create effective operational systems and structures
  • Possesses effective management skills to successfully lead numerous streams of work in a high paced, demanding environment.
  • Experience managing teams, projects and ability to coach and develop talent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
