Assistant Cook – Part Time

Works within the policies and procedures of the HELP organization and the relations of the New York City Department of Health. Follows the individual work schedule as provided by the Food Services Supervisor and to participate in regular staff meetings. Assists cook in preparation and distribution of food. Substitutes as cook when Food Services Supervisor is absent. Maintains kitchen and kitchen equipment in an orderly and sanitary manner, including sweeping and mopping of kitchen floor, in compliance with the Board of Health regulations. Washes dishes/utensils according to sanitary procedures. Keeps daily meal count records. Keeps updated inventory and reports to Food Services Supervisor and items that need replacing. Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. All necessary Food Services Licenses required. Three years of related work experience preferred.
