St. Dominic’s Family Services seeks a qualified professional to join our Children and Family Treatment Support Services Program. Our Program is located in the Bronx and Rockland County but you will be working out of our Bronx location.

The Children and Family Treatment Support Services are available to all children/youth who are 0-21 years old, are Medicaid eligible and meet medical necessity. All services can be delivered in the community where the child(ren)/youth lives, attends school, and/or engages in services. 

The program provides mental health, substance use and behavioral support services to empower children and their families to improve their health, well-being, and quality of life. These services strengthen families and help them make informed decisions about their care. Services are provided at home or in the community. 

Responsibilities:

• As a valuable member of an interdisciplinary team provide psychosocial rehabilitative services to children/youth.  

• Assist the child/youth to develop and apply skills in natural settings. 

• Foster and promote the development of skills identified in assessment or through the ongoing treatment of a licensed practitioner. 

• Deliver services in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.  

• Provide services to children/youth within the context of each child’s treatment plan.

• Provide child/youth with social and interpersonal skills with the goal to restore, rehabilitate, and support.

• Establish support networks, build and enhance personal relationships for child/youth

• Develop coping strategies and effective functioning in the individual’s social environment, including home, work and school locations.

• Support the effect of the child’s diagnosis and reestablish daily functioning skills and personal autonomy skills including but not limited to learning self-care, developing personal interests, managing medication and treatments, learning about community resources, and good health routines.  

• Assist the individual with generalizing coping strategies and social interpersonal skills in a community setting

• Assist individual with effectively responding to or avoiding identified pre cursors or triggers which may result in functional impairments. 

• Provide training on social etiquette and develop self-regulatory skills including anger management. 

• Required to work flexible schedule, including a minimum of one weekend day each week. 

• Other duties as deemed necessary

Requirements:


• High School Diploma/GED required with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s mental health, addition and/or foster care OR

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services; OR

• Master’s degree in social work psychology or in related human services
