Salary: $112,000-$118,000/year

Organizational Overview
The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation (NACF) is a Native-led national organization dedicated to promoting the revitalization, appreciation, and perpetuation of indigenous arts and cultures. Our mission is to advance equity and cultural knowledge, focusing on the power of arts and collaboration to strengthen Native communities and promote positive social change with American Indians, Native Hawaiians, and Alaska Native people in the United States. Through our program initiatives, NACF supports Native artists, culture bearers, and projects that are focused on environmental, cultural, and social change. We support artists to create new work, develop their arts practice, and produce projects in collaboration with communities. Support includes financial resources, artist training, and professional development, presenting and promoting artist work, and project management. NACF will continue with community engagement across the continental 48 states, Alaska and Hawaii as it pertains to raising the visibility and availability of Native resources and knowledge to address cultural equity and help strengthen Indigenous communities, arts, and cultures.
Located in the Pacific Northwest, an area known for its rich Native traditions and dedication to artistic endeavors, NACF is based out of Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon.
Primary Responsibilities
The Director of Development (DoD) will report to the VP of Development. The DoD partners with the VP of Development to expand the fundraising capacity of NACF, including implementing a major gifts program and strategies to increase annual giving from individuals, foundations, and corporations. This individual will mentor the development team and supervise four to five team members. The DoD will serve as an active collaborator with the Programs and Finance staff. In collaboration with the VP of Development, the DoD will develop a fundraising strategy and connect with individuals, corporations and foundations relevant to NACF and our work. As needed, this individual will assist in capital campaigns, including the current effort to support the renovation of NACF's new Center for Native Arts & Cultures, located in Portland.

Additional Expectations
Primary office hours are flexible Monday through Friday between 8 am to 6 pm depending upon meetings; work on evenings and weekends may be required as a function of this salaried position. Travel may be required and may include weekends. The office is located in SE Portland, Oregon.
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position that includes working remotely and working in person at the Portland, Oregon location. The estimate of in-office time is 2-3 times a week. Will attend regular virtual and/or in-person meetings with staff and/or other stakeholders as needed in Portland, OR offices.

Personal computers, standard office equipment, and tools.
Mental and Physical Requirements
Duties require the use of considerable initiative and judgment. Requires working under minimal supervision and direction. Requires working under multiple deadlines and pressure. Requires good communication skills; verbal, oral, and written with supervisor, co-workers, and artists. At times, may require dealing with difficult people or situations effectively. Requires supervision of work and training of staff; establishes and maintains cooperative and productive work relationships; must be a team player.
