The Opportunity:

BerlinRosen is seeking an HR Generalist in our fast-paced main office in New York City, NY. We are looking for someone who is a dynamic, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal person should have a passion for People Management and will eagerly approach Human Resources responsibilities. This role will support the People Operations team with all facets of HR (new hire onboarding, employee relations, benefits, learning and development, compensation, recruiting, etc.). In addition to ongoing HR responsibilities, this individual will provide general administrative support and report to the Director of HR. The HR Generalist will also have the opportunity to lead many special projects.

The ideal candidate will be outgoing and proactive with a strong curiosity and desire to learn more about the various areas of the HR function. To be successful in this role, you will need to be comfortable in a fast-paced, progressive, and high performing environment with constant growth. Complete discretion, effective written and oral communication skills, keen attention to detail with a proven ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department
  • Assist employees with basic questions, benefits escalations, PTO, and Leave of Absence
  • Troubleshoot external and internal requests and inquiries and proactively find solutions
  • Assist Managers and Business Leaders with the annual review process
  • Assist with maintenance and administration of HRIS System
  • Oversee the HR onboarding and offboarding process including:
    • Leading new hire orientation (weekly) and new hire check-ins (post-90 days)
    • Conducting exit interviews for voluntary terminations in order to analyze trends and recommend solutions
  • Assist with the development and coordination of Learning and Development initiatives
  • Manage a diverse set of company-wide HR projects and initiatives as assigned including a company-wide internship program and employee engagement events
  • Support broader HR projects when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably as an HR Coordinator or Junior Generalist
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and practical application of all HR discipline and practices
  • Proven track record of effective priority management in a fast-paced environment
  • Some experience in assisting with employee relations in compliance with labor laws
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise discretion, and independent judgment
  • Well developed written presentation, organization, and editing skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute within a team setting, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solution-oriented with proactive problem solving, and exceptional research skills
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, proficiency in Google G-Suite and Adobe is preferred
  • Intermediate HRIS and ATS administration experience. Experience with UltiPro and Greenhouse a plus.
  • Basic understanding of office technology such as video meeting tools
