The Carolina Abortion Fund, founded in 2011, is an organization dedicated to removing access barriers for individuals seeking reproductive healthcare services, including abortion care by partnering with national, state, and local partners to provide financial, social, and emotional support to CAF callers as they assess and make decisions around their reproductive options. CAF works directly with clinics to provide grants that fill the gap between what patients can afford and the full cost of the procedure. This high impact 501(c)(3) organization partners with foundations and individuals to fund this critical work and ensure reproductive choice and freedom for CAF callers from North and South Carolina.


Reporting to the Director of Development, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the operations and administrative needs of CAF. This role will work strategically with CAF’s leadership team and core staff to maintain an overarching vision for the operations functions, including facilities, risk management, technology, and contract management. The Operations Manager will lead system and process analysis to improve operational efficiency, maintain mission alignment, and ensure staff are resourced with the tools they need to support the needs of CAF’s callers and the communities that CAF serves.



Fund Operations (80%)

  • Lead and Manage Fund Operations: Manage the day-to-day Fund operations, including office management, technology, facilities, and event coordination. Direct and support staff and volunteers across programmatic areas. Manage office administrations and projects including overseeing inventory of supplies. Serve as the central point of contact for technology inventory and work with consultants and vendors to address fund needs.
  • Manage the Administration of Finance, Human Resources and Payroll: Support CAF’s leadership team with finance and accounting by gathering, analyzing, and reporting the necessary data. This includes tracking and processing invoices for staff, vendors, and clinics. Supporting CAF’s leadership team with staff and volunteer onboarding, orienting them to CAF’s policies and act as an HR and payroll liaison for all employees and volunteer staff.
  • Oversee Data Monitoring, Security, and Reporting: Manage the tracking, security measures, and reporting of caller data, supporting CAF’s directors in managing caller and volunteer information and synthesize data to elevate to insights and trends.
  • Identify opportunities to remove operation and administrative barriers hindering effectiveness and client and volunteer engagement and create and implement strategies to address them.


Operational Leadership, Special Projects and Initiatives (20%)

  • Co-create and maintain an organizational culture that fosters deep collaboration, trust, and coordination across functional areas.
  • Actively participate in required convenings, summits, retreats, and staff meetings, and participate in required virtual staff communications.
  • Protect the organization by keeping information confidential.
  • Update professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities approved by CAF, maintaining networks, and participating in professional organizations as relevant to your role.
  • Perform duties required of all staff to support smooth internal operations such as submitting timely expense reports, reimbursement requests, and timesheets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by director team.



  • A strong commitment to abortion access and full reproductive healthcare for all and an understanding and appreciation of the barriers to reproductive health, with at least three years of relevant work experience in the reproductive rights space preferred.
  • At least three years of experience managing the operations of an organization or program (ideally in the reproductive justice space).
  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and evaluate systems that support efficient operations and program delivery.
  • Demonstrated success using influence across an organization to manage stakeholders to outcomes.
  • Interpersonal and communications skills that engender trust and facilitate relationship building with staff, volunteers, callers, and other community members.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and detail orientation.

Technical Skills

  • Basic computer skills including reliable access to the internet and familiarity with Google Suite, and open to learning new technologies and software as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, or Google Suite.

  • Staff is working fully remote for the foreseeable future. Regular hours must include attendance during core business hours from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Occasional work on evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to participate in online virtual communications including email, video conferencing, and other online tools used to facilitate virtual office culture and work sharing. Employees are regularly required to communicate effectively via computer.


The Carolina Abortion Fund includes a competitive benefit package that covers full health, vision and dental, plus the ability to add dependents to coverage. The salary for this position is $55,000.
