Isaacson, Miller (IM), a national executive search firm dedicated to recruiting exceptional leaders for mission-driven organizations, seeks a self-driven and highly organized Office Manager for its Washington D.C. office (IMDC). Reporting to the Managing Partner (Office Lead), the Office Manager is responsible for the day-to-day smooth operations of the office, including facilities, maintenance, IT, vendor relationships as well as assisting with HR functions as needed within the office. The Office Manager is also the indirect supervisor of the search coordinators and manages the office coordinator.  

IM offers a supportive, collegial, and relational professional environment. The Office Manager is a central figure in the life of IMDC and in many ways the glue – both operationally and culturally. The new hire will replace a long-serving Office Manager upon her retirement.  


Coordination of central services

Assist with all levels of IT support, escalating and liaising to the central services team out of Boston when appropriate; work closely with off-site IT tech support to troubleshoot problems for individuals or the office as a whole. 

Facilities management

Build and maintain relationships with the landlord and building maintenance staff, and vendors. Manage internal office and space allocation; purchase and replace furniture; maintain emergency evacuation plan and train new employees on safe evacuation; maintain and execute office texting chain as needed in case of weather or other emergencies. Attend to office-related needs of remote colleagues. 

Support the Office Lead on strategic functions of the office, including execution of office-wide meetings and all special events; work with CFO on annual budget for IMDC and monitor discretionary costs.  

Internal recruitment

Provide search and logistical support on DC-based internal hiring, work with People and Culture team to manage on-boarding process for all new staff members.

Management of the office coordinator who is responsible for overseeing the baseline facility needs and indirect supervision of DC based search coordinators.  



IMDC seeks candidates with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years previous professional experience, preferably in an office environment. Although we recognize that no one person will meet all of these criteria, the ideal candidate will possess many of the following experiences and qualities:
