Do you want to learn new skills while gaining exposure at an influential advocacy organization? Everytown for Gun Safety is looking for a Cultural Engagement spring intern (February - June 2020) in its New York City office. We are the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with nearly 6 million supporters. Our supporters include moms, students, mayors, survivors, and everyday Americans who are fighting for reforms that respect the Second Amendment and protect people.

Everytown has a fast paced work environment—currently all-virtual—and we seek talented interns who crave learning new skills and aren't afraid to tackle big projects. As an intern you will get to work with a variety of our staff, while working on real projects that will help us grow.

  • Communication and administrative skills including email etiquette, scheduling, and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
  • Assisting our department coordinator and Directors in managing information and projects throughout the organization.
  • Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.

Cultural Engagement Projects:

  • Support the Cultural Engagement team's Wear Orange campaign efforts, culminating on National Gun Violence Awareness Day (June 4, 2021) and Wear Orange Weekend (June 5-6, 2021).
  • Research and organize projects involving influencers in film, TV, sports, music, visual art, and literature speaking out on gun violence.
  • Prep documents for high-level meetings with entertainment brands and figures.

What We Require:

  • Ability to complete tasks and communicate clearly while working in a virtual environment
  • Experience or educational background in the arts, literature, political science or cultural studies preferred, but all considered
  • Insatiable interest in pop culture and its intersection with social good/activism
  • Strong writing, communication and organizational skills
  • Interest in the gun violence prevention movement
  • Socially conscious and hardworking individual

We value all of our interns and go the extra mile to make sure you receive a learning experience that fits your career goals.
