    Art in Tanzania helps small community clinics in the villages and larger hospitals. Tanzania's healthcare needs professional medical staff. You can assist in developing healthcare, but you also get great experience working in a developing country with limited medical facilities.

    Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. We receive about 250 participants in our community placements annually.

    Art in Tanzania community medical support team works in Dar es Salaam. In the Madale village medical support program, we can combine small village clinics with larger hospitals.

    The public health program focuses on helping and educating the village communities about nutrition, sports and exercise, art therapy, sustainability, and other fields.

    Typical prominent hospital clinical work placement includes:

    1. Internal medicine
    2. Pediatricians
    3. Obstetrics
    4. Gynecology
    5. Emergency
    6. Radiology
    7. Laboratory
    8. Ambulance
    9. Psychiatry
    10. Psychology

    13. Pharmacy

    Tanzanian pharmacies are far from Western standards. Specifically, small village pharmacies need training and advocacy to develop their prototypes.

    The medical program also includes HIV/AIDS counselling, advocacy, testing, and events to raise awareness.

    The internship outcome is to learn to use your studies and experience to work in developing country conditions.

    Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

    The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities.

    Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work.

    The start and end dates are flexible as all programs are ongoing, many since 1996.

    You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours.

    We commonly have 15-40 students from different parts of the world, from over 400 universities we cooperate with, and representing a variety of professions.

    The Benefits and Perks are as follows:

    Accommodation and meals are personal expenses. For 1-13 weeks, EUR 175 per week covers accommodation with breakfast and dinner, the student compound facilities, and professional tutoring. From week 14 onwards, the cost is EUR 125 per week.

    Airport transfer is EUR 60 one way, which is a personal expense.

    A charity visa for immigration, which costs USD 50, is a personal expense. A multiple-entry visa for less than 12 months is USD 250.

    We pay interns a USD 50 monthly stipend, which is small but 2x Tanzania's national minimum wage.

    Flights are a personal expense.

    Local transport, if any, is a personal expense.

    You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable tours and safaris.
