The Thinkubator, an innovation and workforce development startup nonprofit is seeking a Higher Education Intern to advance and support the Higher Education Consultancy of The Thinkubator. The Higher Education Consultancy is a newly launched initiative of The Thinkubator that is focused on providing higher education executives with strategic management and leadership support. Led by Dr. Duleep Deosthale, The Thinkubator’s Higher Education Consultancy works with universities and colleges across the United States and globally to sustain and  grow institution’s as the education sector recovers and re-engineers itself in a Post-COVID-19,  Black Lives Matter, and political upheaval environment. The Higher Education Intern provides critical strategic support for the Consultancy, with particular attention to conducting research and analysis, writing white papers and opinion pieces,  developing presentations, and assisting in providing recommendations for clients. 

The Higher Education  Intern will learn about higher education management, and leadership while supporting the development of a consultancy focused on higher education. 

More About the Position 

  • Conduct research and analysis on issues impacting higher education as a sector and more specifically for clients of The Thinkubator Higher Education Consultancy; 
  • Develop and craft innovative solutions to solve complex problems presented by clients and higher education as a sector; 
  • Develop and create implementation plans for Organizational Change Management strategies in large and small, complex environments; develop initial communications and training strategies; 
  • Execute strategic thinking and be able to complete the required activities through development of materials, strategies, and plans 
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in business process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work 
  • Actively participate in stakeholder engagement, stakeholder assessment, and change impact assessments; work alongside the  team to develop and implement an integrated change management strategy 
  • Hold a strong executive presence and conduct executive leadership conversations 
  • Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues 
  • Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and create reports 
  • Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products 
  • Assist in proposal development, as requested
  • Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients 
  • Perform other duties as required

You will be expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week and apply for your institution’s credit bearing internship course to receive academic credit for this experience. Our required hours will depend on the amount of internship hours required to complete your internship.  Funding is very limited as we are a startup nonprofit organization. 

Please note: This position is based in The Bronx, NY. In response to COVID-19, The Thinkubator staff are temporarily teleworking. Once the office reopens, the person hired for this

position will work in The Thinkubator’s office in Bronx, New York or in Poughkeepsie, New York.
