PAI champions policies that make it possible for every woman to have quality reproductive health care. We work with policymakers in Washington and our network of partners in developing countries to remove the policy roadblocks between women and the care they need.

We are currently recruiting a UHC Research and Policy Intern for Spring 2020.

This internship will support PAI's newly launched Universal Health Coverage and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights evidence-based policy analysis and advocacy project spanning seven countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Specifically, the intern will conduct background research and support the development of six country policy landscaping case studies. The intern will review relevant literature and data sources, as well as help draft content. This internship is ideal for someone seeking experience combining technical research and policy analysis skills with practical advocacy applications.

 Specific duties will include:

  • Reviewing existing material and compiling secondary data to support policy landscaping
  • Helping to draft country-specific content for case studies
  • Providing logistical support for internal/external meetings and events including securing catering and event space, preparing agendas and minutes, and compiling materials

Qualifications

  • A graduate student focused on public health, international development/affairs, women’s empowerment, reproductive health and/or public policy
  • An interest in reproductive health and family planning issues and country-level public policy
  • Familiarity with universal health coverage, health systems and financing concepts
  • Strong research and analysis skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly precise attention to detail, strong organizational skills
