The RAND Graduate Student Summer Associate Program introduces outstanding students to the RAND Corporation, an institution that conducts research on a wide range of domestic and international policy issues and national security problems. RAND employs about 800 researchers in Santa Monica, CA; Washington, D.C.; Pittsburgh, PA; and Boston, MA. RAND researchers publish their work in various types of reports and numerous peer-reviewed journals.
We are interested in students who are currently enrolled in PhD programs in the following disciplines. Masters students will be considered only as follows.
- Policy Research
- Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physical Sciences (masters students will be considered)
- Sociology & Demography
- Political Science & History
- Operations Research, Ind. Engineering/Sys. Engineering, Management Science, Supply Chain, Risk Analysis (masters students will be considered)
Summer Associates work at RAND for a 12-week period during the summer. Students receive a bi-weekly paycheck and are given the opportunity to conduct research while mentored by a senior research staff member.
