ArtBridge is a Chelsea-based public art nonprofit. Since 2009 we have turned thousands of feet of NYC's construction fencing into large-scale canvases for local artists, focusing on artists and communities that have been historically marginalized. Our primary current programs are Bridging the Divide -- our artist fellowships at NYCHA developments; and Not a Monolith -- our professional development and community-engaged program for early-career Black artists. ArtBridge is seeking a communications fellow. This 8-month fellowship from late-April through December is designed for current students or recent graduates who want to develop professional communication and development skills, while exploring the fields of public art, community engagement, and nonprofit management.
The fellowship will combine considerable hands-on work experience with learning/networking opportunities.
Approximately 15 hours per week, with a flexible work schedule. The position can be fully remote, or you may work in our office in Chelsea, NYC. You do not have to be based in NYC to apply, but you should have some familiarity with the city (i.e. used to live here, virtually attending a college/university in NYC), as much of our work and communications require a basic familiarity with NYC.
Total stipend is $12,500 (approximately $25/hour).
