PartnersGlobal specializes in organizational development and social entrepreneurship, having provided the seed capital and technical assistance to establish 21 independent, local Centers around the world.

The PartnersGlobal team includes process experts, facilitators, and trainers who apply those collaborative skills to achieve concrete results in technical areas such as the rule of law, women’s empowerment, inclusive security governance, and capacity building. The PartnersGlobal Network is renowned for undertaking cutting edge work and applying our process expertise to convene disparate parties to jointly tackle some of the most complex development challenges.
The Sub Saharan Africa team in Washington D.C. advances these goals by working on access to justice, inclusive security governance, anti-corruption, and civil society strengthening with projects in Nigeria, Guinea, Senegal, and Burkina Faso.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join us as a Sub Saharan Africa Intern to assist with strategic communications, research, translation, and programmatic and administrative support. PartnersGlobal is committed to fostering a vibrant learning and professional development atmosphere. We provide mentorship and hands-on support to develop new skillsets and relevant experiences for those interested in the fields of international development and conflict resolution. As an Intern with the Sub Saharan Africa team, you will be provided an opportunity to work with and learn from PartnersGlobal staff in Washington, DC and the Partners Network centers located throughout the world.
Learning opportunities include:
- Conducting and compiling background research on issues related to anti-corruption, rule of law and security in Sub Saharan Africa;
- Developing project management skills by providing support to the Sub Saharan Africa team;
- Attending events in and around the DC metro area to stay on top of the trends and approaches that likeminded organizations and partners are utilizing to address citizen security and access to justice related issues;
- Building knowledge of Sub Saharan Africa donors through developing targeted outreach content including communications materials such as website updates, impact flyers, and thematic one-pagers.
Qualifications: The ideal prospective candidate is a graduate student or recent college graduate with demonstrated interest, work experience, and/or academic study in the thematic area of conflict resolution, citizen security, preventing/countering violence extremism, and/or inclusive security governance (highly qualified undergraduates will also be considered); exceptional English language with proficient French language skills (fluency preferred), research, writing, translating and editing skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and an insatiable desire to learn.
