Are you excited about connecting students to the most important global issues of our time? Are you interested in curriculum design and education program development? Are you passionate about helping young people navigate a changing media landscape?

Our K-12 education team works with schools to bring pressing under-reported issues, and the journalists who cover them, into the classroom. Our resources engage global reporting across all media platforms and focus on a wide range of topics, including climate change, migration and refugees, racial justice, health, and many more.

Through the Pulitzer Center’s education programming, students and teachers access powerful educational experiences that may include in-person or virtual journalist presentations, journalism skills and media literacy workshops, student contests, professional development for teachers, and more.

The Pulitzer Center education team seeks a full-time intern who will help us grow the reach and efficacy of our work. This is a great opportunity for a creative and passionate educator to team up with some of the best journalists in the world and develop partnerships with educators.

The education program intern's main responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting curriculum design using our journalism projects to provide compelling and useful models for K-12 teachers in a variety of disciplines.
  • Supporting scheduling, coordination, and facilitation of journalist and staff-led virtual workshops for students and teachers.
  • Documenting education program activities through blog posts, video, and/or other media.
  • Supporting the design, distribution, and analysis of education program evaluations.
  • Following up with K-12 education partners and program participants to evaluate programs and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Reviewing and copy editing lesson plans, newsletters, event listings, blogs, and other education materials to ensure accuracy and sensitivity of content.
  • Developing independent projects in support of the Center's education mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.
