    BOC is looking for an intern to commit 20 hours weekly (or more) to support the loan fund operations of affiliate BOC Capital Corp., a CDFI dedicated to providing financing to small business owners, with a special focus on women, minority, and immigrant entrepreneurs. Ideal applicants are passionate about economic justice and have an interest in entrepreneurship, finance and community development. Excellent opportunity to learn about not-for-profit operations, grants management and microenterprise development services.

    BOC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loan Fund Operations Intern to support the daily operations of the loan fund team. The intern will work closely with the loan fund team on loan tracking, reporting, and data management. Key responsibilities include updating loan information into tracking spreadsheets and databases, assisting with monthly loan reports, and supporting loan remittance processes. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in loan fund operations, data management, and quality assurance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Data Management: Update loan tracking systems and ensure the accuracy of loan-related information.
    • Database Entry: Enter loan information into internal databases, ensuring completeness and consistency.
    • Reporting: Assist with preparing and distributing regular loan reports to relevant team members.
    • Compliance: Generate and organize reports for follow-up activities and compliance requirements.
    • Loan Operations Support: Support the team in loan servicing tasks, including tracking payments and communicating with borrowers.
    • Quality Assurance: Contribute to improving data accuracy and consistency in reporting processes.
    • Additional Tasks: Assist with other administrative and operational duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Interest in small business development, financial services, or community development.
    • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with database management systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

    Benefits

    If for academic credit, this is an unpaid position. Otherwise, the wage is $16/hour. A higher hourly rate is available for graduate students.
