Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York’s premier human services providers, is a 124-year-old settlement house that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services—social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness—which significantly improve the lives of thousands of people in need each year, ages 3 to 103, on the East Side of Manhattan. Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s Research and Evaluation Department supports the organization's ability to create, analyze, and use data to improve client services, program operations and organizational efficiency. The Department undertakes a variety of quantitative and qualitative projects for the organization’s wide range of programs, including optimizing database systems to track output and outcome data; creating data reports and dashboards for internal and external use; collaborating with staff to make data-driven program decisions; conducting needs assessments and process evaluations; and assessing agency-wide impact.
Supervised by the Director of Performance Management and Evaluation, the Intern will:
- Run regular data reports for staff, including developing new reports as needed;
- Produce external data reports for program funders;
- Assist with the development of databases and other data collection tools;
- Conduct data entry and data analysis/evaluation; and
- Provide support on other special projects as needed.
The successful candidate will have strong quantitative and technology skills, as well as a passion for data-driven management. Must be highly proficient in Excel, including experience with pivot tables and slicers, and must also have the ability to quickly learn new technologies and databases. Experience with Stata is a plus. The successful candidate will also be detailed-oriented and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Approximately 15 hours per week.
