Summer Internship - 2018

Position Summary

ACT for Alexandria is searching for a Summer Intern who is eager to work for a dynamic community foundation. ACT works to increase charitable investment and community engagement in Alexandria, Virginia. This summer ACT is embarking upon a strategic planning process for which an intern will help to provide project management and research support. 


·        Project management

o  Prepare agendas; provide record of meeting outcomes

o  Coordinate staff, consultant and committee assignments


·        Research

o  Administer surveys

o  Literature review

o  Data analysis

o  Draft summaries of analysis



·        One to two years relevant work experience, preferably with in nonprofit or philanthropic organizations

·        Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

·        Possesses solid research and analytical skills

·        Familiarity with survey design and survey tools

·        Possesses a “can do” attitude

·        Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook


Flexible, 20 hours a week with a minimum of 6 weeks in May, June, July or August.

Salary & Benefits

This is a paid internship in the range of $18-$20 per hour, temporary position, no benefits.
