Can you take the helm of fundraising strategy for a small foundation with exponential impact? If so, we want you!
The Canavan Research Foundation is a 501(c)3 dedicated to curing neurodegenerative brain diseases, including Canavan Disease, Taysachs, Alzheimer's, MS, and Parkinsons.The foundation made history when it funded the first gene therapy in the world for a brain disease, stopping the atrophy of the brain of 20 Canavan children. Next on the agenda is stem cell trials- which have cured the disease in mice.
We are looking for someone to take the lead on fundraising this summer.
Responsibilities include: grant research, profiling, and writing grant applications, creative fundraising ideas, getting our auction site up and running, building strategic partnerships, managing social media accounts, planning events, etc.
This is a position with a major degree of autonomy and responsibility, perfect for someone who can take initiative and is passionate about making a difference. You are organized, ambitious, and knowledgeable about best practices in fundraising strategies. You are an excellent writer and highly personable.
This position is preferably based in Washington, DC, but will also consider remote applications. If in DC, a City Bike membership will be provided to you.
