Passerelles numériques (PN), a non-profit organization, is dedicated to enabling highly disadvantaged youths, through their abilities and their commitment, to access education and technical and vocational training, in the sector of Information Technology. We work to build strong employability which will allow them and their families to sustainably escape poverty, and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries. Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 342 students and employs 98 people based in these three countries including a small team in France. 

Passerelles numériques relies on the financial and skills sponsorship of several corporate partners such as Accenture, Econocom, Microsoft and Société Générale and also receives support from individual donors.

In Cambodia, Passerelles numériques started its mission in 2005, with a training center based in Phnom Penh. PN Cambodia offers a two-year vocational training program for young people in precarious situations.. Today, PN Cambodia (PNC) trains 101 students and graduated 1389 young disadvantaged since 2005

Context and mission

The Event Management Volunteer/Intern will be assigned to support the External Relations Department of Passerelles numériques Cambodia. The External Relations Team consists of 3 members and their main objectives are to support students to place them for internships, support their job search, train and prepare students for their professional careers, fundraising, marketing and communication, and event management.

The Event Management Volunteer/Intern is the one in charge of all major events management of the center in Cambodia. And he/she will be reporting to External Relations Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of External Relations Manager, the Event Management Volunteer/Intern will work on:

  • Event project management
  • Organize and coordinate the preparation of internal and external events: 
  • Career Forum in September 2018
  • BarCamp Asean in October 2018
  • Teacher’s Day/Fundraising in November 2018
  • Graduation Ceremony in December 2018
  • Sponsorship handover events periodically
  • Other events proposed by major partners
  • Maintain and develop relations with strategic partners for event support
  • Work with external relations team to create communication and PR tools for the events
  • Prepare events within the budget given
  • Coordinate with other departments for support of the event
  • Others 
  • Take part in team to work on other projects if required

Skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public relations, event management, communication or other equivalent degree 
  • Working level of English, speaking, reading, writing, listening
  • Eager to learn, to adapt to new situations and take up challenges
  • Willingness to work in NGO environment/sensibility to social development
  • Rigorous, well-organized, autonomous and proactive
  • Able to adapt to different environments and different cultures 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 
  • Dedicated and Committed to the tasks given


  • Unpaid volunteer or internship
  • Multicultural team setting (Khmer, French)
  • For people paying income tax in France, all the costs of the assignment (e.g. plane tickets, vaccines, insurance and visa) are considered as donations and as such are 66% tax-deductible
  • Possibility of accommodation at the students’ dormitory for all or part of the assignment (subject to availability)
