Summary
Art in Tanzania's Media Department uses digital media outlets like social media, web pages, and blogs to promote our programs and educate the public.
Details
Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. We receive about 250 participants in our community placements annually.
Our community-based programs aim to empower the local communities and individual people.
Interns experience daily life in Tanzania while also witnessing the growth of one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa.
We use social media to increase the program's visibility to the public and as a marketing tool. We often use it to provide information about our work in the communities.
Our Facebook pages have more than 50k followers and a solid visibility base for the Tanzanian public.
We highlight media in network development and constantly wish to develop tools to reach our target groups in universities and the private sector.
Our media tools include the arts, music, and film. We also offer an immersive experience for students who desire to use innovative and creative African media tools.
Our media is advocacy, visibility, and marketing-focused. We also provide in-country orientation, training, and academic tutoring for the program.
Academic-level team leaders supervise your daily internship. We also monitor the weekly planner to ensure your progress in your work and report system for your study program.
The internship outcome is learning to use and get experience implementing your education in developing country conditions with limited capacity and a better understanding of the opportunities in a fast-growing economy.
Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities.
Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work.
The start and end dates are flexible as all programs are ongoing, many since 1996.
You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours.
We commonly have 15-40 students from different parts of the world, from over 400 universities we cooperate with, and representing a variety of professions.
The Benefits and Perks are as follows:
Accommodation and meals are personal expenses. For 1-13 weeks, EUR 175 per week covers accommodation with breakfast and dinner, the student compound facilities, and professional tutoring. From week 14 onwards, the cost is EUR 125 per week.
Airport transfer is EUR 60 one way, which is a personal expense.
A charity visa for immigration, which costs USD 50, is a personal expense. A multiple-entry visa for less than 12 months is USD 250.
