    Position Summary

    The Programs and Partnerships Intern is important in advancing the team’s efforts to develop and design initiatives to resource the power, leadership and self-determination of our grassroots women, girls and LGBTQIA+ partners as they realize their vision for just and feminist futures. This role focuses on partner communication, partner engagement, and mapping of partners’ expertise. The Programs and Partnerships Intern will work closely with and report to the Program Officer of the Programs and Partnership team.

    Position Description

    The Programs and Partnerships Intern is responsible for supporting the Program Officer in researching, drafting, notetaking, organizing, planning, evaluating, and any other relevant duties related to the year’s planned partner initiatives. These initiatives include but are not limited to, a partner newsletter pilot, virtual convenings, and a partner assessment and mapping. The intern will support research, design, and drafting language for the newsletter, shaping the team’s communication with partners regarding opportunities and resources to expand their capacities, understanding, and access to funders, trainers, and each other. Additionally, the intern will support the planning of virtual convenings with partners to create opportunities for partners to come together and be in community, access learning opportunities, and deepen their networks and relationships. The intern will also support the mapping of partners' areas of expertise and ability/availability to provide technical expertise to other partners.

    Core Responsibilities

    Partner Newsletter

    • Research organizational strengthening and development opportunities that respond to needs identified by partners;
    • Draft content for the partner newsletter, including listings of resources, summarize relevant opportunities, highlight partner achievements, and other relevant content;
    • Design and format the partner newsletter;

    Virtual Partner Convenings

    • Provide logistical and administrative support related to organizing virtual events for MADRE partners;

    Partner Mapping

    • Research and design databases for housing and sharing resources for partners;
    • Analyze partner data and systematically organize and store the data;

    General

    • Create learning and evaluation tools and forms for gathering partner input and feedback on different activities;
    • Support data collection and analysis;
    • Other tasks as required.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Current student or recent graduate. Preference will be given to those with an educational background in human rights, women’s studies, international development, and other relevant fields.
    • Research Skills: Strong research, analysis, and writing skills. Detail-oriented and able to deliver assignments on time.
    • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of different cultural backgrounds, abilities, and languages.
    • Organization Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
    • Design Skills: Knowledge and prior use of design platforms and services such as Canva are required. Additional experience in Mailchimp is preferred.
    • Languages: Fluency in English and one or more of the following languages preferred: Arabic, Spanish, or French.
    • Commitment: Strong alignment with MADRE's mission, vision, and values, with a demonstrated interest in and understanding of social justice, human rights, and gender equity globally.
