Latinx Engagement Intern

This new line of work is responsible for leading the strategy behind Everytown's Latinx engagement and outreach as an organization and with many national, state, and local organizations across the country that share our mission of combating gun violence and its root causes. Building, strengthening, and expanding our grassroots organizing, community education, and survivor networks into Latinx communities is a critical part of our work to end gun violence. 

Position Description - The Latinx Engagement Intern will work with and report to the Director of Latinx Leadership and Community Engagement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with great interpersonal skills, flexibility, humor, good judgment, and able to jump in and support the team with needed projects and reports in an effective manner. The intern will be responsible for assisting the Latinx team with project management needs for the implementation of national advocacy campaigns and projects with external stakeholders.

Principal Responsibilities

• Performs various administrative functions including ongoing data entry, report preparation, and record maintenance
• Serve as a liaison with finance and operations to execute basic accounting functions such as invoicing, memorandum of understandings (MOUs), contract requests, processing and tracking payments
• Provide schedule support as needed for cross-departmental, cross-divisional, and external partner meetings
• Manage the Director of Latinx Leadership & Community Engagement’s calendar and event tracker
• Support note-taking and meeting set-up for cross-departmental, cross-divisional, and external partner meetings
• Logistical support for virtual events
• Drafting emails and newsletter content for external partners
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Familiarity with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Bluejeans, Webex
• Excellent attention to detail and great writing skills
• Self-starter that has experience working in fast-paced environments
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and progressive social change
