About Rebuilding Together Platte Valley East
Rebuilding Together Platte Valley East celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017. In that time, we have helped dozens of homeowners to make their homes safer, healthier and more accessible. Our work has touched the lives of hundreds of people – those living in the homes as well as those in their neighborhoods. We incorporate Rebuilding Together's Safe and Healthy Housing protocol which has significantly expanded the scope of work provided. We have an active accessibility ramp program through which we install and maintain several ramps annually.Fremont has many beautiful, historic homes and neighborhoods that have been well-preserved. At the same time, Fremont has homes and neighborhoods that are aged, deteriorating and in need of rehabilitation. In Fremont, 69% of seniors live in homes they own; 32% live alone; 29% have incomes below the poverty line; and, 31% received food stamps in the last year. There are at least 2,700 elderly homeowner households with mobility or self-care limitations and those numbers are growing.

Rebuilding Together works to strengthen the lives of our most vulnerable communities by providing low-income homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-efficient upgrades. Rebuilding Together's local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects each year. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe and healthy home. As we help to stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods across the country, our lasting impact extends beyond each home.
On average, our homeowners live at or below the poverty level and are forced to choose between food, medicine and shelter needs. We provide these critical home repairs at no cost to qualified homeowners. Rebuilding Together is often the last resort to preserving their homeownership – their only personal asset.
