Urban Green Council, the New York affiliate of the U.S. Green Building Council, a non-profit organization working to advance sustainability in the urban built environment, has an excellent opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals passionate about contributing to the growing green building movement.

Research Intern:

The Research Intern will support the Research Department’s ongoing projects with tasks related to report production, data analysis and visualization and administrative and communications support. Candidates should be able to take on multiple projects and work independently with flexibility, enthusiasm, and creativity. The position will provide broad exposure to leading thinking in urban sustainability and the opportunity to positively impact the future of New York City.


Social Media and Marketing Intern:

The Social Media and Marketing Intern will assist with communications and design projects as part of Urban Green’s external relations. Candidates should be able to take on multiple projects and work independently with flexibility, enthusiasm, and good humor.

 

Public Programs Intern:

Working directly with the Public Programs Department, the Programs Intern will assist with administration and outreach for Urban Green’s educational events. This position offers the unique opportunity to learn from leaders across the green building industry while executing interesting and timely educational programs. Candidates should be able to take on multiple projects and work independently with flexibility, enthusiasm and good humor.


Fundraising and Membership Intern:

The Fundraising and Membership Intern will assist with development projects and events as part of Urban Green’s external relations. Candidates should be able to take on multiple projects and work independently with flexibility, enthusiasm, and good humor.

                                                                                                                      

Policy Intern:

The Policy Intern will support the Policy Department’s advocacy and collaboration with the City of New York, New York City Council, the State of New York and professional associations including the Real Estate Board of New York. The position will provide broad exposure to leading thinking in urban sustainability and the opportunity to positively impact the future of New York City.


Education Program Intern:

Urban Green is seeking an Education Program Intern to assist with administration and outreach for its two flagship education programs, including GPRO: Green Professional Building Skills Training, and Conquering the Energy Code. Candidates should be able to take on multiple projects and work independently with flexibility, enthusiasm and good humor.       


Internships will begin in January and last 3-4 months, with the opportunity for extension. Spring interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours a week and are paid a bi-weekly stipend. All Urban Green interns are also extended complimentary invitations to Urban Green educational programs and events. Note that these opportunities are only available to individuals currently enrolled in a degree-granting program.
