    Description

    NLIHC Operations Intern

    The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) works to achieve racially and socially equitable public policy that ensures people with the lowest incomes have quality homes that are accessible and affordable in communities of their choice. The Operations team seeks a fall intern to support the Coalition’s staff and mission. The Operations intern will assist the Operations team with key internal functions related to administrative, finance, HR and IT related support.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist with daily operations and administrative tasks, such as data entry, handling in-office inquiries and monitoring inventory management
    • Prepare member/donor acknowledgement letters
    • Coordinate with NLIHC staff in procuring needed office supplies.
    • Assist in internal IT troubleshooting and notify staff of updates to IT and telecommunication systems.
    • Provide new employee onboarding support to the operations team as needed
    • Process staff expenditure requests and other accounts payable payments.
    • Complete monthly credit card reconciliation.
    • Assist with special projects as needed

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Fall interns are expected to work 25 hours a week for 15 weeks. NLIHC provides modest stipends.
