Graduate Student Internship, Fall 2018 to Summer 2019

Global Cities is seeking graduate student interns to assist with program management, including the monitoring and review of student work and maintenance of the learning management system, integral to the organization’s education program, Global Scholars.

About Global Cities, Inc.

Global Cities, Inc. is a non-profit organization under the auspices of Bloomberg Philanthropies. The organization’s vision is to connect global cities through a practical international information-sharing network that provides meaningful forums for exchanging up-to-date best practices that address current issues impacting cities; and to develop global awareness among the next generation through cross-national interactive educational projects designed to enhance their ability to act as global citizens.

Description of Internship

Interns will assist Global Cities staff with the delivery and management of Global Scholars, an international digital exchange program that connects 13,500 middle school-aged students in 60+ cities around the world, by maintaining the online learning management system, including monitoring and tracking student work. In addition, interns provide overall content and administrative support through maintaining databases and assisting the Education Team with professional development for educators across the globe. Interns may be required to work on additional research projects that contribute to the development of key components of the organization’s core programming.

These are paid, part-time internships (15-20 hours/week). Internships are set to begin as soon as possible in the fall 2018 and continue through summer 2019, based on performance and organization capacity. Only applicants with expected availability throughout this entire period should apply. Interns are expected to work on-site at Global Cities’ midtown headquarters. A regular schedule of interns’ hours will be established.
