Spend a summer learning about nonprofit management and helping seniors in Manhattan. As a DOROT intern, you will be exposed to the complex issues of aging, and gain experience in all aspects of DOROT’s operations.
Among many activities you may visit with seniors, assist in planning programs for seniors and volunteers and outreach too encourage participation, and collect and assess program data. Interns focus their work in one department -- Community Services, Volunteer Services, Health and Wellness or Evaluation -- based on their interests. There are also weekly meetings with speakers who discuss aging policy, programming and other topics and other group activities for interns.
