The Development Intern works directly with the Development team to assist in planning, promoting, and hosting events, executing marketing initiatives and offering fundraising support. The intern will report to the Director of Advancement. This position is ideal for an individual interested in learning more about nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and marketing. This is a stipend-paid, part-time internship with flexible, week-day scheduling. The candidate should have reliable transportation.
Qualifications
Required:
· Very detail-oriented
· Self-starter who takes initiative and highly reliable
· Can prioritize work and meet deadlines
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
Preferred:
· Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram application
· Familiarity with Constant Contact or other email platforms
Responsibilities:
· Communicate & plan with event vendors as needed
· Create and distribute promotional event materials
· Assist in selling event tickets (when applicable)
· Assist in managing pre-event and on-site registration
· Help to execute all marketing activities & initiatives necessary to ensure successful events including social media promotion, email blasts, and paid advertising
· Assist in recruiting special event volunteers
· Produce and publish social media content
· Design and send electronic mail such as e-newsletters and e-invites as needed
· Update the ACCESS webpage as needed
· Provide administrative assistance to the development team for grant research and submission
· Provide support to the Director of Advancement, Volunteer Coordinator, and Development Assistant as directed
· Other duties as assigned
