People's Planet Project is looking for an ambitious and creative Portuguese speaking Intern for our projects in the Amazon basin of Brazil. You will be responsible for networking and relationship building with potential local partners, identifying areas of collaborations and providing pro-active support in proposal development.

Are you willing to expand your horizon and be part of a new movement? If so, we want to hear from you!

About us:

Now we get to brag about us: People’s Planet Project aims to bring indigenous rights to the attention of civil society and policy makers through documentaries. We work together with non-governmental organizations involved in ground breaking environmental and human rights issues globally. Those partnerships and the documentaries we produce will enable indigenous communities to advocate and campaign for environmental and indigenous rights on a local and global level.

We equip indigenous communities with the skill set to tell firsthand stories through documentary workshops offered by local filmmakers. We are driven by the belief that providing indigenous communities with a skill set to tell powerful visual stories on the unsustainable practices face, will enable policy action around issues that affect the livelihood and well-being of the most vulnerable communities. Stories have the power to drive social change and People’s Planet Project exist to help those stories take flight.

Your responsibilities:

  • Identify the priorities and needs for partnerships in the region;
  • Establish, build up and maintain a network of contacts and partnership relations;
  • Ensure the relevant information flow between relations with regards to new projects, ambitions, donor requests, upcoming funding, advocacy and partnership opportunities as well as new trends within the humanitarian sector and film industry;
  • Represent the organisation in various internal and external meetings.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in International Economics, Management, Development/International studies or related field;
  • Native and/or full professional proficiency of the Portuguese and English language
  • Knowledge of humanitarian settings, indigenous rights, post-emergency or developing countries, and preferable documentary filmmaking innovations;
  • Be independent, humble and a good team player;
  • Have a sense of typography and attention to details;
  • Creative thinker and the ability to produce new ideas and concepts.
