Denver Summer Teaching Fellowship - Cash Scholarship & AmeriCorps Award Provided

ORGANIZATION

Generation Teach is committed to ending racial injustice and inequity in education. Our mission is to co-create loving communities where generations of students, teachers, and leaders learn, grow, and develop. We partner with districts and charter schools to offer dynamic summer programs to create a new generation of diverse teachers, develop professional teachers as coaches and leaders, and engage middle-school students in academically rigorous and culturally relevant summer experiences. We launched in Colorado in 2014, expanded into Massachusetts in 2015, and opened in Rhode Island in 2017.

POSITION

We are seeking college and high-school students who reflect the diversity and excellence of the communities we serve who are committed to careers in education or interested in trying teaching.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete two weeks of training 
• Co-teach two sections of math, reading, or social studies
• Co-design and teach an elective
• Plan and co-lead daily routines and community-building activities

QUALIFICATIONS

• College student or high school sophomore, junior, or senior
• Alignment with Generation Teach’s mission, vision, and values
• Strong academic preparation, growth mindset, commitment to building relationships, and readiness for an intensive experience
• Willingness to learn, teach, and lead in-person or virtually; we are planning in-person programming in Denver, Providence, and Holyoke, and national virtual programming.
