    Description

    The Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council (Michigan EIBC) and Institute for Energy Innovation (IEI) seeks a paid graduate-level intern to support policy research on building sustainability, electrification, and energy efficiency.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent research and writing skills, time management and organizational skills, be attentive to details, be self-motivated with the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision, and be eager to learn and excel in a small, collaborative team environment.

    The selected candidate will be expected to dedicate approximately 10-15 hours per week to this work starting on or around January 6, 2025, with increased hours (up to full time) expected during summer.

    The internship will be 12 months in length. Attendance is expected at scheduled virtual meetings during normal business hours, but can be flexible depending on the selected candidate’s schedule and other work can occur when mutually convenient.

    The selected intern will be paid a stipend of $800 per month if working 10-15 hours per week and $3,200 per month if working 40 hours per week.

    Anticipated Tasks: Research and Writing ● Conduct research on policies related to building electrification and energy efficiency in Michigan and other states ● Write portions of a Building Electrification Roadmap for Michigan ● Support modeling work conducted by outside consultants related to greenhouse gas emissions and policy simulations Anticipated Tasks: Member Engagement ● Participate in meetings with Michigan EIBC members and take notes/compile summaries ● Support policy staff to gather information, ideas, and best practices from Michigan EIBC members.
