Position Overview

The Energy Co-op is seeking an Energy Program Intern to support our renewable electricity and renewable natural gas programs. This person will have the chance to learn about the energy industry from the ground up and will report to the Energy Program Director. If you are data driven and interested in learning about renewable energy and sustainability this is a great chance to get experience in a dynamic organization.


Responsibilities

The intern will support the Energy Program Director in data processing and analysis for different key functions, including profit forecasting, price generation, historical data analysis. Specifically, the intern will:

  • Identify trends and opportunities through analysis of complex data
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of new forecasting tools
  • Perform back-casting analysis on monthly program performance
  • Perform correlation analysis on pricing and member data


Required Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university at the senior level completing a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree

  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Excellent organizational skills managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, filters)


Ideal Qualifications

  • Candidate for master’s degree in public policy or public administration
  • Highly organized; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Specific interest in clean energy industry

This is a part-time, non-exempt, paid internship position. Hourly rate and total hours are determined by The Energy Co-op and contingent upon experience. The Energy Co-op prides itself on providing a high-quality work-life balance with competitive compensation.
