The Center for Mind-Body Medicine is currently seeking a National Program’s Communications Intern to assist with marketing and communications for CMBM’s National Programs.


The Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM) is a non-profit educational organization. Our mission is to make self-awareness, self-care, and group support central to all healthcare; the training of health professionals; and the education of our children. This begins with our evidence-based Mind-Body Medicine program which aims to provide the science and techniques to make mind-body medicine essential to your personal life and professional practice. We have been working in the United States and overseas since 1991. About the Internship

We are currently seeking a Communications Intern who is an Internet whiz, to assist with marketing and communications for our national programs! This is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in learning about our Professional Mind Body Medicine Training, Advanced Training, Mind, Mood & Food and Online Mind-Body Skills Groups! This role will report to the National Programs Team. We are seeking an intern that can commit to 10-15 hours per week, for a minimum of 3 months. Start and end date is flexible. We would prefer an intern that could come to our DC office, but will consider remote applicants.

Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the National Programs Team and Communications Director to create and implement outreach and marketing campaigns
  • Participate in marketing and communications strategy meetings
  • Create, edit and track outreach campaign graphics and text
  • Create, edit and prepare reports for email marketing communications
  • Create and monitor social media postings on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram in relationship to our trainings 
  • Assist in creating original content for website (blogs, news, etc) related to National Programs
  • Conduct outreach phone calls
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Experience and Competencies Required

  • Currently hold or pursuing a degree in communications/advertising, public relations, or similar field
  • Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
  • Excellent written communication skills; including proof-reading/editing
  • Strong creativity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Above-average proficiency Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign preferred
  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML and graphic design a plus
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and the professionals and populations we serve
  • Strong Organizational skills is a must
