2021 Communications Intern with the NC Justice Center

The Communications Team at the North Carolina Justice Center is seeking a part-time Intern for the summer of 2021 to advance the project’s digital communications efforts and social media strategy as the team works collaboratively to help spread crucial information to the residents of North Carolina.

The Intern will assist the team with project campaigns focusing on digital engagement and social media. They will be responsible for creating social media posts/templates for social series. There is a potential for assisting in recutting video for the Communications and Development teams and help build information architecture of the communications team, as well as other tasks and projects.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will:

·      Embrace a desire to make a difference in North Carolina and a demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity. 

·      Be a rising junior/senior undergraduate student or current graduate student, preferably with a focus on journalism, communications, public policy, or English. 

·      Have background in/good eye for infographics & graphics.

·      Possess basic design skills, knowledge of Canva and Adobe preferable

·      Have excellent social media acumen and written communication skills.

It is preferable, but not required for the candidate to have experience with digital engagement and video editing.

Compensation:

Because we are a non-profit organization entirely dependent on grants and donations, we encourage you to apply for funding through your school and to explore other funding opportunities. Limited funding will be available from the Justice Center.
