Finance & Administration Intern

Scope of the role

Responsible for providing support on finance, compliance, HR, and administration within the Finance & Administration unit. 

Principal accountabilities and ownership

1.       Finance and Compliance: Responsible for ensuring compliance of submitted documents (payments, travel expense, credit cards), supporting finance team on standard processes (e.g. monthly closings, audit preparation), and contributing to the preparation and booking of accounting entries.  

2.     HR and administration: Responsible for compliance of leave and timesheets, supporting HR&A team on standard processes (e.g. payment requests, office supplies, assets recording,).

3.     Archiving and storage: Responsible to supporting F&A unit on proper storage (physical and on SharePoint) and archiving.

Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Administration, Management, Business or Public Administration, or a related field
  • Previous experience in working with an international organisation is an advantage
  • Demonstrated interest in finance or administration in non-profit sector

Technical skills

  • Fluency in English or French with working knowledge of the other one
  • Working knowledge of another language is an advantage

General information:

  • Duration: 6 months on a full-time bases with an option to extend.
  • All recruitments are subject to availability of funding
  • Our office is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • GCERF provides a stipend of 2,000 CHF per month.
