Job Title: US Congressional Campaign Intern, Creative Team

Job Type: Summer, 2022 full time flexible hours


Location: New Haven County, Connecticut

The Campaign Intern on the Creative team is responsible for

working with Candidates for the Independent Party of Connecticut and the

campaign team of Amy (Doc) Chai to plan fun, unique, and informative outreach

events for the voters of the Third Congressional District. Helping to craft

social media outreach across Instagram, Tik Tok, and facebook is also expected.



Job description:

Creating content for social media platforms

Event planning for outreach to a diverse community

Attending fundraiser events and assisting in logistics of these events

Advertising for these events

Using creativity to boost interest in issue based topics

Attending zoom meetings and in-person meetings

Will create only positive messaging. There will be no negative campaigning.

This campaign is all about what we are “for,” not what we are “against.”  



Qualifications:

Required:

Must have ability to work across social media platforms. Must have excellent

communication skills. Must be able to interact directly with venues such as restaurants,

community groups, and local festivals and events. Must feel comfortable

interacting with all types of people of different beliefs, ages, income levels,

and demographics. Must have transportation.

Desired:

Would like college coursework in fields such as design, marketing, communications, or

related fields.



What we are looking for:

· Strong and effective communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent

interpersonal skills.

· Demonstrated creativity and design skill for events and social media.

· Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.

· Strong interview skills, ability to ask the right questions to gather and

obtain relevant information.

· Ability to work independently, as well as maintain a positive working

relationship with others.

· Strong attention to detail and follow-through.


Remuneration:

There will be an opportunity to qualify as a staffer in DC if the campaign is successful. We will work with

your university to create an opportunity for credit.

The Independent Party is a third party that seeks to represent the people and stop divisive partisan politics. If the campaign is successful, a position as a staffer in DC is a possibility. Since we do not have "big money" we hope to be able to compensate expenses of interns after fundraising.
