Friendship Ambassadors Foundation is currently accepting applications for Summer Internships. We are looking for undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional studies candidates to assist the core staff on the planning and preparations for the 2018 Summer Youth Assembly.


The preferred candidates must be able to commit up to 20 hours per week. These are non paid internship opportunities, traveling reimbursement is provided. These positions are available to qualified applicants living in the Greater New York area.


Youth Assembly Conference Planning & Programming Internship


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work closely with the Program Specialist to ensure that all aspects of the program agenda are done in a timely manner, within budget, and the desired level of quality
  • Propose ideas to develop and improve the conference agenda
  • Proactively troubleshoot any emerging problems during both the planning and the actual days of the event
  • Liaise confidently and professionally with Youth Assembly speakers and presenters
  • Preparing timely thank-you notes to speakers, sponsors, and key partners after the event
  • Conduct post-event evaluation and debriefs to determine how future events can be improved
  • Willing to tackle other duties as assigned to ensure overall success of the Youth Assembly


QUALIFICATIONS


  • 1-2 years’ relevant internship and/or work experience preferred
  • Must have a strong interest in international development and youth development
  • Experience or knowledge of the United Nations preferred
  • Must be able to work under strict deadlines
  • Have a creative approach to developing ideas and solving problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; email and phone etiquette
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and G-Suite
  • Strong attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter and a team player
  • Global perspective and strong cultural awareness
