DESCRIPTION


Position Summary: The Clark Hulings Fund for Visual Artists (CHF) is seeking a communications

intern with excellent writing and editing skills. CHF is a national nonprofit organization that

provide professional artists with business resources and training to help them be self-sustaining

entrepreneurs. The intern will produce compelling content for our Learning Portal

(clarkhulingsfund.org/learn) and other channels, as well as support the team’s content-

management activities. Ideally, the intern will also possess skills related to media production,

and an avid interest in the art industry and business education.

This position reports directly to CHF’s communications director, a journalist with nearly 30

years of editorial experience, and the intern will have the opportunity to have his/her writing

published on our website.


Responsibilities:

● Draft original content for our website and other channels

● Conduct research, catalog information, and draft reports on his/her findings from which

to base potential content

● Proofread and review copy and layouts

● Review and pull video clips from monthly webinars for promotional use while liaising

with AV editors and the communications team

● Additional content-related tasks as assigned by the communications director


Qualifications:

● Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills

● Excellent computer skills and basic knowledge of WordPress

● Experience managing YouTube channels

● Familiarity with basic media production

● Experience using Trello, Slack, and other content-management programs

● Can handle multiple priorities in a time-sensitive manner

● Ability to work both independently and within a team structure

● Creative, takes initiative, communications clearly, and plays well with others

● Interest in the art industry and business education
