FPWA is an anti-poverty, policy and advocacy nonprofit with a membership network of nearly 170 human service and faith-based organizations. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Training and Support Intern will support the Programs Department with planning and implementing workshops and trainings. In this capacity, the Intern will assist to track and monitor workshop schedules, attendance and logistics. Additionally, the Intern will complete check requests for the timely payment of invoices and keep detailed, accurate records in support of programs. The Intern will work with staff to engage and cultivate relationships with membership, enter and track data, and assist with strategic initiatives that align our program and policy work.

FPWA is currently working remotely given the COVID pandemic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide accounting & record-keeping functions to support Emergency Food & Shelter Program grants
  • Support planning and execution of meetings and trainings
  • Engage partners around program initiatives
  • Perform detailed record keeping functions related to the needs of various programs
  • Provide support and assistance to other FPWA projects/units as directed
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Manage various clerical duties

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accounting, finance or business administration undergraduate degree program
  • Must be a recipient of Pell, TAP or student loans
  • Must be able to work between 12 to 20 hours per week
  • Prior clerical or office experience, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with various stakeholders
  • Detail oriented, organized and creative self-starter
  • Punctual, reliable, honest and of sound character
  • Collaborative and willing to learn

Benefits

COMPENSATION: $15.00 an hour
