EVENT ORGANIZING INTERN (REMOTE) – FALL 2020

OVERVIEW:  The Remote Event Organizing Intern will work closely with Peace Action Fund of New York State’s Fundraising Committee in the fall to assist in planning online events and fundraising. The Fundraising Committee is holding an online William Sloane Coffin Jr Peacemaker Award Event in the early fall, as well as working on end of year fundraising activities that support the work of the organization.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Support online events organized by the Fundraising Committee 
  • Attend the Fundraising Committee’s online weekly meetings (currently scheduled for Wednesday afternoons) 
  • Support the organization’s fundraising efforts 
  • Use tools available to contact potential donors and event participants, including phonebanking, emails, social media posts 
  • Use EveryAction, an online development tool, to update contact information, perform donor analysis, create mailing and call lists, and export reports  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Current undergraduate student, preferably with connection to New York State  
  • A passion for social justice and foreign policy and an understanding of Peace Action New York State’s mission and values  
  • Strong organizational and communication skills  
  • Experience in development work would be helpful  

 

This internship requires 10-15 hours per week and will be supervised by Sylvia Rodriguez Case, Peace Action Fund of New York State board member and member of the Fundraising Committee. The Event Organizing intern will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the fall semester.
