AGC is currently seeking an intern to support our social media content research and generation. As much of our work focuses on raising awareness around the injustices of the current food system, and the importance of farmer autonomy and ecological practices, our content is a key tool for engaging and growing our audience of supporters and partners. We have developed a calendar for the year to begin to map out scheduled social media posts with professional images and videography. We are now looking for a dynamic, passionate volunteer with an interest in food justice and a knack for clear, compelling writing, to help us craft and share key messages to accompany our visual content on Facebook and Instagram. This volunteership is an opportunity to learn about fascinating subjects, work alongside leading activists and experts in land rights, ecological agriculture and social justice globally, and to gain experience in social media communications, especially as it pertains to the non-profit and social sector.

Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain content for social media presence, and research and write posts for Facebook and Instagram

- Develop AGC's strategy for increasing engagement and growing online social media presence

- Develop and roll out new social media campaigns designed to engage our audience and intended audience

- Research news and trends relevant to ACG's mission and work, and craft compelling calls to action to reach stakeholders through digital space

- Research mission-aligned potential partners and sponsors on social media that could be interested in partnering with AGC, and target them through links, hashtags and post engagement

 Skills and Requirements

- Effective communicator, both written and oral.

- Interest in, passion for, topics of focus for AGC's work

- Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms

- Ability to work well independently and remotely

In this role you will have the chance to work closely with Loren, and to learn from his experience and mentoring. There is also scope to develop your contribution beyond social media content, if you have time, aptitude and interest. We look forward to hearing from you!
