Fund for Global Health advocates for global health solutions with the greatest potential to avert preventable death and disability.
Join a national team of student interns and other citizens whose U.S. Representatives or Senators are on the Congressional subcommittees of Appropriations that fund foreign aid. (To see which Representatives and Senators are on these subcommittees, click here and here.) You will be trained and supported in effective citizen advocacy, urging these key Members of Congress to increase U.S. funding levels for global health programs. Currently we are focused on programs addressing tuberculosis, the top infectious disease killer in the world and by far the most underfunded relative to its disease burden.
We are seeking interns or volunteers who are constituents of these Representatives and Senators, to work 8-10 hours a week for a minimum of 4 months, with regular Skype/phone training and support in all activities. All activities can be conducted remotely.
We are also seeking 1-3 special interns to work with the Director of Advocacy to recruit people in the targeted congressional districts and states.
This is an excellent opportunity to address major global health challenges and learn effective advocacy skills. We foster career development opportunities for those who want that.
