The National Police Accountability Project (NPAP) is seeking an intern with at least a 3-month commitment to volunteer 5-12 hours a week with the Executive Director or a 25 hour per week commitment for a summer internship position for a minimum of two months. Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and be able to learn new tasks quickly. Duties may include (depending on your skills and experience) but are not limited to: correspondence to inmates and others requesting legal assistance, legal research, grant research and writing, continuing legal education seminar planning, event planning, database management, website design and management, and other office support. The National Police Accountability Project is a project of the National Lawyers Guild and is a membership organization of more than 500 civil rights attorneys who work to end law enforcement misconduct. This internship position is at our New Orleans office and the intern would work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Manager. Our mission is to end police abuse of authority through coordinated legal action, public education, and support for organizations addressing police misconduct.
Internship may be used for credit at your educational institution.
