Milwaukee Succeeds (MKE-S) is a community-wide partnership grounded in collective impact, whose aim is to ensure success for every child in every Milwaukee school, cradle to career. Our partnership is comprised of representatives from over 300 local organizations, working to identify, align and scale strategies that move the needle on childhood outcomes. Given the diversity of our partnership, “backbone support” is essential in order to effectively: 1) align the community around a shared vision, and 2) build partner commitments to shared goals. The MKE-S backbone includes six VISTAs and one VISTA Leader - all of whom work with staff, partners and the community to build the partnership’s capacity on key points of leverage from cradle to career.
