HACU’s government relations (GR) team in Washington, DC, is accepting applications from interested individuals to work as a paid intern for the summer of 2018. Only one intern will be selected. The GR intern will support and work with the government relations team on higher education policy issues before the U.S. Congress that impact directly Hispanic-Serving Institutions and Hispanic students.
This is a 10 week internship program at 40 hours a week. The gross pay is $590 a week, paid every two weeks. This position will not entail overtime and HACU cannot pay for more than 10 weeks ($5,900 gross for summer). The start date is June 4, 2018, or June 18, 2018, for a student at a school on a quarter system. Intern must secure his/her own housing in the Washington, DC area.
Interested individuals must: be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or be a recent graduate; have completed at least their freshman year before the internship begins; be in good academic standing with a GPA at or above 3.0 (on a 4 point scale); and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
