Description

National Lawyers Guild San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (NLGSF) is the largest chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, with over 700 members, and seeks an enthusiastic and administratively competent summer intern to work with our Membership Coordinator to support our active committees. NLGSF committees are the foundation of our programmatic work. Our volunteer members work to realize the mission of the Guild in areas such as immigration, demonstrations, and military law.

The intern will assist office staff and our demonstrations committee with general administrative duties, database updates, office system upgrades and will be assigned individual projects to complete during the summer. There will be three or more guild evening events where interns will provide tabling and administrative support. The intern will also provide support for planning our Progressive Lawyering Day event and a family-friendly event taking place in the fall. Must be computer literate, comfortable working in a hectic environment, have a good phone demeanor and a passion for social justice.

This is an unpaid internship that requires a commitment of 20-25 hours per week. This internship runs from June to September. Some internships may be extended into the fall. The National Lawyers Guild Bay Area Chapter is willing to fill out any paperwork for interns in order to receive college credit.

NLG-SF is an affirmative action employer. People of color, women, immigrants, formerly incarcerated persons, LBGTIQ+ individuals and differently-abled individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
