The Development Intern supports the Development and Membership team with fundraising efforts and donor/member relations. The ideal candidate is a current college student or recent graduate with an interest in non-profit work and fundraising.

Responsibilities Include:

·      Assist with the preparation of World Affairs’ Awards Dinner, which this year highlights Climate Change.

·      Conduct research on prospective sponsors for the Awards Dinner, including companies investing in green sustainable companies, VCs investing in eco-friendly companies.

·      Help with event planning and provide on-site logistical support for the Awards Dinner and other special events.

·      Assist with data entry and clean up in the donor and member database (Salesforce).

·      Provide general clerical support including filing, maintaining department records and helping with mailings.

·      Other special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

·      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

·      Excellent writing and communications skills

·      Strong web-based research skills

·      Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel


Hours: 10-15 hours per week. Start Date: ASAP, End Date: May 29, 2020

Start and end dates are flexible, please include availability in cover letter.

Compensation: This internship is unpaid; however we will reimburse monthly commuting costs. Interns are highly encouraged to attend World Affairs forums and other standard events, which are free of charge. Upon the successful completion of their internship, they will be given a one-year membership.

Location: The offices are located in downtown San Francisco, near Union Square, at the World Affairs Center.
