    Social Media Specialist, Development, Outreach

Do you love telling meaningful stories? Honduras Child Alliance is looking for a Social Media Specialist with a flex start date of August thru October 2026 to help share our work with the world and keep us connected to our volunteers, donors, and partner organizations.

In this role, you’ll promote HCA internationally through social media, newsletters, volunteer postings, reviews, and fundraising support—keeping our online presence active, engaging, and impactful.

    What you’ll do:

    • Coordinate social media, newsletters, and other online outreach
    • Welcome and train new volunteers on social media best practices
    • Participate in weekly Leadership Team meetings
    • Collaborate with our Development Manager on fundraising appeals

    What we’re looking for:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Some experience managing social media
    • Spanish at an advanced beginner level is a plus (but not required!)

Perks: Free housing at our beachfront volunteer house (w/ 6 mo. commitment), Spanish instruction. weekly food stipend

    🗓️ Commitment: 6–12 months

Please note: This is a traditional volunteer position. Our Social Media Specialist is an active part of our in-country team and will also participate alongside staff and volunteers in delivering Spanish literacy, computer competency, and English classes to the young people in our community.

While specific time is built into your schedule for social media, you'll wear many hats and jump in where needed. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys collaboration, strategy, and being part of a dedicated, hands-on, and engaged team making a real difference every day. 💛

    Benefits

This is more than a social media role — it’s an opportunity to become part of a friendly, welcoming community, gain meaningful international nonprofit experience, build lifelong friendships, and use your creativity to help create real opportunities for young people in Honduras. If you want your work to truly matter, this experience will stay with you long after you leave. 🌎✨
